Shanling is launching its new compact SM1.3 streamer, available from 8 November.
Priced at £1,199, its features include a flagship AKM4499EX DAC chip and AK4191 Modulator aligned to a TPA6120 dedicated headphone amp.
Offering native support for streaming apps including Spotify, Tidal, Apple (Music, Classical and AirPlay 2) and Amazon Music, the SM1.3 also boasts a USB input for flash drives and a M.2 SSD slot for larger digital music collections.
Its 5.8 inch touchscreen looks thoroughly modern while the Eddict app for Android and iOS can also be used for controlling the SM1.3.
Networking connectivity is via wifi 6 or a dedicated ethernet port, while Bluetooth 5.2 means both LDAC and aptX HD are supported. Outputs on offer are nicely spread over optical and coaxial options for digital, plus RCA and XLR over analogue.
