Chord Electronics is making its pro audio Alto headphone/speaker amplifier available to the public.
First introduced at California’s NAMM show in January as part Chord Electronics’ Pro range, the Alto was designed to meet the exacting demands of recording and mastering studio engineers.
Its compact form houses the brand’s ULTIMA dual-feed-forward error-correction amplification tech (that we also experienced when reviewing its Hugo Table Top range)and is capable of driving up to four pairs of headphones and smaller loudspeakers (25W into 8 ohms) at once.
It’s also the first Chord Electronics product to include a 4.4mm Pentaconn TRRRS output (pseudo balanced).
On the inputs side, both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) sockets are on offer, as well as balanced XLR outputs for bypass/throughput to other devices.
Priced at £3,000, find out more at Chord Electronics.
