Audiolab has bolstered its 9000 Series with a new range-topping twin box amp system, the 9000Q preamplifier and 9000P stereo power amplifier.
Sporting a 4.3in colour display and various visual options including VU-style meters, the 9000Q offers analogue inputs spread over single-ended and balanced, plus a moving-magnet phono input.
On the digital side USB-B and 5.1 Bluetooth rub shoulders with twin coaxial and optical sockets feeding an ES9038PRO 32-bit DAC with Class A post-DAC active filter, catering for files up to 768KHz (PCM) and DSD512.
Its matching 9000P stereo power amplifier is a dual-mono Class AB design based on the brand’s ‘complimentary feedback’ tech, with 2x100W into 8 ohms (160W into 4 ohms) on offer. It can also be run in bridged mode when connected to a second 9000P to drive a single speaker, pushing the output to 2x300W into 8 ohms (2x380W into 4 ohms).
Alongside RCA sockets, the 9000P offers XLR inputs to benefit from the 9000Q’s balanced circuit topology and ‘XLR Direct’ facility, enabling a fully balanced signal path from input to output in the preamp to directly feed the matching power amp.
Priced at £1,499 for the 9000Q preamplifier, £1,099 for the 9000P power amplifier or £2,499 when bought as a bundle, find out more at Audiolab.co.uk.
