Acoustic Energy is launching its new AE1 40th Anniversary Edition loudspeaker.
Built around its iconic AE1 which revolutionised the compact loudspeaker market when it first hit the shelves back in 1987, this new variant adds four decades of the brand’s latest innovations.

Upgrades includes an all new aluminium tweeter with larger 29mm voice coil (up from the standard model’s 25mm variant), resulting in claimed lower thermal compression and improved dynamics. Its rear chamber has been enlarged too, to absorb more rearward energy and keep resonance low.
And in the bass region its spun and hard-anodised cone has been beefed up to 125mm for a greater radiating area, married to an aluminium shorting ring to lower distortion.
Its high gloss black or walnut veneer cabinet options get 10 layers of gloss paint applied to its HDF cabinet, which boasts AE’s RSC tech by tuning it to mimic the acoustic characteristics of the original cabinet, while freeing up half a
litre of internal volume.
