DELA S5 front on

Make the switch

DELA Audio, the brand formally known as Melco, has announced its S5 high-performance network switch.

Optimised for high-resolution music playback, it boasts front-panel controls with Link Speed alongside Neutrik RJ45 sockets and four SFP+ ports.

Building on the success of Melco’s S100 and the flagship DELA S1, the S5 is optimised for local and external streaming services, combining advanced architecture with audio tuning.

Dela S5 internals

The user-selectable Link Speed feature means users can fine-tune network performance from the unit’s front panel, with slower link speeds for improved sound quality and higher speeds more suited to servers and processes such as Roon. Each port’s status is indicated via colour-coded LEDs, and the entire front panel can be dimmed for distraction-free listening.

Inside sits DELA’s Super Clear Dynamic Power Supply, while its casework is formed from a 44cm brushed aluminium chassis with stainless-steel rear panel, CNC-machined corner cheeks, and isolation feet for mechanical stability to match that of the DELA N1 and S1.

A USB 5V output provides power for accessories such as WiFi adapters or ADOT fibre isolation units, while rear-panel indicators confirm network speed and status, which can also be switched off for optimal sound quality
