FiiO has unveiled its M33 R2R music player, billed as a next-gen digital audio player that brings true R2R (resistor to resistor) digital to analogue decoding to the mainstream portable audio market.

Internal tech includes a fully differential complementary 24-bit R2R resistor array, paired with a Texas Instruments multi-stage amplifier offering 1100mW of power per stereo channel, to drive a wide-range of headphones
Powering the M33 R2R is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, running Android 13 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage plus a MircoSD card slot.

Priced at £449, the M33 R2R will soon be joined by FiiO’s Retro Box speaker which allows you to use it as a music source with digital cassette style display (price TBC).
