Rega has announced not one but three reference product this month, as it continues to expand its flagship product lines.
The eagerly anticipated Mercury pre and Solis power amps, which we got up close with in Bristol, have finally been given an official release.

Priced at £13,900 for the pair (£6,950 each), they’re designed to also partner Rega’s flagship Aura phono stage, ISIS CD players, and Naia turntable for an all out Rega reference rig.

Top flight tech includes fully discrete symmetrical circuitry in the preamp’s core signal path, plus a high performance onboard DAC with S/PDIF and asynchronous USB input, with the latter galvanically isolated.

The Solis stereo power amp also gets fully symmetrical discrete circuitry in its signal path, with 168W are on offer into 8Ω (rising to 305W into 4Ω) and balanced inputs alongside single-ended.

Priced at £695 (or £2,554 when bought as part of a Planar 8 turntable bundle), the Nd9 is Rega’s latest range-topping moving-magnet cartridge. Features include Rega’s innovative Neodymium magnet tech combined with a Boron cantilever and fine line profile stylus.

For the cartridge body, Rega’s familiar injection moulded glass filled polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) is called upon, aided by the brand’s trademark three-point mounting system. And when it wears out, the Rega’s replacement scheme is there to soften the financial blow.
