Australian-based head-fi innovators, Burson Audio has announced its new Stellar Series of compact Class-A desktop components.
Composed of the Conductor Stellar, a high resolution, DAC, Class-A headphone and desktop preamp in one, and the Soloist Stellar, that focuses purely on headphone amplification and preamp duties, the duo is designed to maximise the audio potential of high-end in-ear monitors (IEMs) through its dedicated ultra-low-noise IEM amplification stage.

Both models pack 8W of fully discreet Class A power with four Onsemi MJE15032 transistors per channel, backed by the brand’s ‘Max Current Power Supply’. All of which is housed in a spacecraft-inspired enclosure, sporting precision-shaped fins and vents to optimise heat dissipation.
The Conductor model also hosts a flagship ESS9039PRO DAC offering 24 filters and path settings, with each carefully selected to match its analogue output stage. Data handling is covered up to DSD512 and 32-bit/768kHz PCM. There’s Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity too, including for LDAC, aptX HD, and AAC Codecs (up to24-bit/96kHz) with Roon Ready setup as part of the package.

The Soloist Stellar model costs £1,700, while the Conductor comes in at £2,000.
