Audio-Technica has announced the latest addition to its direct-drive turntable range.
Taking inspiration from brand’s ‘60s and ‘70s models, the new AT-LP8X deck features a J-shaped aluminium tonearm with newly designed lift that automatically raises at the end of a record and stops the motor, to help limit needle wear while adding convenience.
Other features include height adjustable feet, three semi-automatic speeds (33-1/3, 45, and 78RPM) and a 25mm rubber-damped, anti resonance die-cast aluminium platter with a 2.5mm rubber mat, that’s driven by a sensor-monitored motor for accurate rotation speed.
Its pre-installed AT-VM95E BK (black) cartridge sports a 0.3 x 0.7mm elliptical stylus (compatible with any VM95 Series replacement stylus) and comes mounted on a newly designed lightweight AT-LT10 headshell with ½” universal mount for 4-pin turntable cartridges, with or without threaded inserts.
The AT-LP8X turntable costs £859, while the AT-LT10 headshell can be purchased separately for £50. Find out more at Audio-Technica.
