Chord Company has applied its 4 decades of cable knowhow to a new USB-C digital model for everyday devices used for audio playback including smartphones, tablets and laptops.
The two new USB-C cables expand the existing Clearway and C-line ranges (which already offer a variety of USB terminations).
As the entry level option the C-USB benefits from heavy-gauge oxygen-free silver-plated conductors, dual layer high-frequency shielding and gold-plated connectors to avoid tarnishing/corrosion.
Clearway USB: affordable excellence adds alloy-sleeved connectors, silver-plated oxygen-free conductors, plus double-layer foil shielding with high-density braid for enhanced protection from RF interference.
The Clearway terminations also benefit from Chord Company’s non-compression strain relief system to maintain cable integrity at the plug.
The C-USB and Clearway USB (Type C) are available in A-C, C-B and C-C types and 0.5m, 1m, 2m and 3m lengths.
The C-USB costs £57.50 for a 0.5m variant (with C-C/A-C/C-B terminations), while the the Clearway USB costs £115 for a 0.5 m length (with C-C/A-C/C-B terminations).
