Leema Acoustics is launching a new series of amplifiers and source electronics, kicked off with four new integrated amps, each proudly manufactured in Wales.
The new 100 Series models have all been designed around Leema’s core DNA, with a strong emphasis on dynamic control and ultra-low distortion.
The i85 is an analogue only (Class AB) design, boasting 85W per channel and costing £1,710, while the iD85 adds an onboard DAC and increased price tag at £2,170. Next up is the i150 with 150W per channel at £2,600, with its digitally equipped iD150 variant coming in at £3,040.

Their design includes oversized heatsinks for long-term reliability, by keeping their output devices well within safe operating areas, while oversized toroidal transformers with dual secondary windings are supported by more than 27,200 μF of reservoir capacitance per channel.
Both the i85 and i150 employ multiple pairs of 15A Toshiba output transistors, providing generous current headroom and a low output impedance for a high damping factor.
Both ‘D’ variants feature a high-performance DAC based on ESS Technology’s Sabre 9028Q2M chip, with inputs comprised of two coaxial, two optical and one USB (with an XMOS XU208 USB receiver for the latter, catering for data up to 32-bit/384kHz).

Their analogue preamplifier stages feature four line-level RCA inputs alongside a moving-magnet phono stage, derived from the brand’s Essentials Phono. For added flexibility, all amplifiers include preamplifier outputs, a stereo pair of subwoofer outputs, and a record output. A 12V trigger is on the menu too for control of external Leema components, alongside a remote control with assignable input shortcuts.
