Ferrum Wandla Gen 2

Wandla-full

Ferrum has announced its new the Wandla GoldenSound Edition Gen 2 DAC/preamp platform.

Building upon its EISA award-winning Wandla model and the original GoldenSound Edition, the updated Gen 2 variant upgrades three of its most distinctive features: Impact+, Tube Mode and Spatial Enhancement.

Each of these technologies has been completely overhauled and refined with Ferrum’s ‘Sweet Spot Tuning’, designed to give listeners greater control over their sound.

With Impact+ (Ferrum’s advanced low-frequency enhancement system), users can now choose from seven distinct sound profiles (Reference, Ref+, Smooth, Kick+, DD-Comp, DD-Comp+, and Sub-Bass), each offering a unique combination of bass shaping and dynamic response.

Tube Mode. as the name suggests, adds a valve amplification-like musical sweetness to the music, and the Gen 2 take this to the next level, by modelling the sound of specific established valves with the sounds of the EL34, KT88, 300B, 2A3 and 7062 all on offer.

Finally Spatial Enhancement (Ferrum’s soundstage enhancement tech) goes up from two to three dedicated modes, meaning as well as being optimised for loudspeakers and headphones, ‘Transient Compensation’ (or T-Comp for short) fine-tunes the spatial processing algorithm to better handle high-frequency transients.
