Glasgow’s Fyne Audio has launched its Vintage Classic Gold SP (Special Production) loudspeaker Series. First previewed at the Munich High End show, their designs follow in the brand’s immediately recognisable footsteps, thanks to designer Dr Paul Mills’ ambition to combine fine-sounding loudspeakers styled in cabinets from hifi’s heyday.
Bridging the price gap between the brand’s standard Classic models and the higher-end Vintage Series, the Vintage Classic Gold SP retain the Classics’ rectangular cabinet shape, formed from high-density birch ply with IsoFlare drivers sporting improved neodymium tweeters and Fyne’s BassTrax 360° porting system.

Further refinements across the range include fully Deep Cryogenically Treated (DCT) crossovers using Fyne’s own cryogenic facility, upgraded internal wiring, and gold-plated ETI connection terminals.
Models include 8, 10, 12 and 15″ IsoFlare driver versions, with classic Roman numeral nomenclature suffixes.
All four models use a single multifibre paper low frequency cone, terminated with Fyne’s patented FyneFlute roll surround. Large ferrite motors are also used across the range, with rectangular copper wound voice coils over an aluminium former to aid heat dissipation during high volume use. The motor assembly also uses a copper shorting ring on the pole piece in a bid to reduce eddy and keep the magnetic field stable.
The smallest Gold SP VIII model is inspired by Fyne’s flagship F1-8 stand mount loudspeaker with its 8″ IsoFlare driver and 1” magnesium dome high frequency (HF) transducer within a bespoke waveguide.
The Gold X, XII and XV SP models draw their HF technology from the Vintage Series, using a 3″ titanium dome compression tweeter.
Their bespoke hand built crossovers sport upgrades over the Classic Series including high power metal clad resistors and Claritycap high grade polypropylene capacitors, with Neotech PC-OCC internal wiring used throughout.
The Vintage Classic Gold IIX SP costs £7,499.99 per pair with the Vintage Classic Gold X SP priced at £9,999.99 per pair. The Vintage Classic Gold XII SP comes in at £11,999.99 per pair while the Vintage Classic Gold XV SP costs £14,999.99 per pair
