On a music mission

Mission is stepping into the digital music age with the launch of its first music player, the 778S streamer.

Designed in partnership with audio streaming specialist Silent Angel and engineered within a compact chassis that matches its 778X partnering amp, the 778S is equipped to handle hi-res audio up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD up to 22.5MHz (DSD512).

PCM audio streams are upsampled to 352.8kHz or 384kHz via its ES9038Q2M DAC, which also boasts ESS Technology’s Time Domain Jitter Eliminator.

Steaming support is on offer for Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect and TuneIn Radio alongside Roon Ready certification, with RAAT (Roon Advanced Audio Transport) protocol built in.

Inputs include dual-band wifi, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C and USB-A ports with analogue outputs offered over balanced XLR and single-ended RCA sockets
