Quad is expanding its Platina range with the release of its CDT range-topping compact disk transport.
Sharing the same steel chassis and anti-resonance feet as the Platina Integrated amp, it sports a thick aluminium front panel hosting a CD loading tray and a 4.3″ colour display.
Designed as an ideal hifi rack partner for the Platina Integrated’s in-built DAC (which are intentionally separated to reduce potential sources of electrical noise and distortion), features include a hi-end shielded transport coupled to a custom-designed CD servo control system.
A TCXO (Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator) provides an ultra-precise master clock for the servo and decoder section, powered by its own independent, ultra-low-noise linear regulator and grounding scheme, to reduce power supply induced jitter for its S/PDIF digital output.
