French loudspeaker specialist Triangle is expanding its Borea range with the BR05 large-format standmount speaker.
Designed to blend retro-chic styling with contemporary acoustic design, the BR05 is built around an all-new 21cm midwoofer with 100% natural cellulose pulp cone that was developed specifically for this model.
Its motor features a 120mm ferrite magnet and 40mm voice coil, while a rigid, open basket promotes airflow and heat dissipation to help the BR05 stay composed during dynamic passages.

On high frequency duties beats Borea’s signature 25mm silk dome EFS (Efficient Flow System) tweeter, complete with phase plug ,while front firing double bass-reflex ports make the BR05 less sensitive to distance from rear walls.

The BR05’s cabinet is formed from high-density MDF panels up to 21mm thick, while Triangle’s exclusive DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System) uses a high-density EVA foam gasket to connect the rear of the motor to an internal brace in a bid to dissipate mechanical energy before it reaches the cabinet, with two additional internal braces to further reduce unwanted resonance.
The speaker’s two-tone finish pairs wood-toned cabinets with solid-colour front panels and matching driver rubbers, with light oak and black ash options joined by chestnut, green and ‘frosted’ white.
Priced at £729 with optional S03 tilted stands at £225 per pair, visit Triangle HiFi to find out more.
