First teased last May, Kent’s Chord Electronics has now formally launched its highly anticipated Suzi preamp and ULTIMA-technology partnering stereo power amp, following their prototype unveiling at High End 2024 in Munich.
The amplifiers, which can be used in isolation or as a dedicated pre/power combo come packed with the brand’s proprietary tech.

Chord Electronics’ Suzi Amp with Hugo 2 and 2go
The 30W Suzi Amp stereo power amplifier can also seamlessly integrate with the brand’s Hugo 2 DAC as a tailored upgrade path for existing Hugo 2 owners and comes supplied with a charging bridge to connect the two. And when paired with Chord Electronic’s 2go streamer, it transforms into a streaming amplifier complete with Roon Endpoint and DLNA/UPnP connectivity, plus the potential for up to 2TB of onboard solid state storage from the 2go’s twin MicroSD slots.

Chord Electronics’ Suzi Pre and Suzi Amp
The Suzi’s Pre boasts a trio of RCA inputs (including feeding a premium built-in moving-magnet / moving-coil phono stage with selectable gain and impedance) and one RCA output, plus 12V DC input. It also gets headphone outputs spread over both 3.5mm and 6.35mm sockets.
For enhanced versatility when using the Hugo 2 and Suzi Amp combination, Chord Electronics also offers a dedicated USB multiplexer expansion accessory which connects to the Hugo 2’s dual Micro USB inputs, and adds USB-B data inputs, plus USB-C data and charging.
Available in black or silver, the Suzi Pre costs £1,995, while the Suzi Amp comes in at £3,400 and the USB Multiplexer costs £300.
