Dan D’Agostino (or Dan D’Agostino Master Audio Systems to use the man’s full brand moniker) has launched its latest addition to its mid-level Momentum range with the new C2 Preamplifier.
A dual-chassis design, its main enclosure houses the audio electronics while the lower chassis holds the power supply, to isolate the former from the latter.
This new model also gets D’Agostino’s distinctive analogue meter complemented by a new digital display on the power supply unit and new remote-control that incorporates a digital representation of the amp’s signature analogue display.
It’s internal topology includes an array of four JFET transistors in a complementary, differential, push-pull arrangement, while its PSU features individual custom toroidal transformers dedicated to analog and digital circuitry respectively, with internal circuitry designed to address RF noise and powerline irregularities.
Analog inputs include three pairs of balanced XLR sockets alongside a set of single-ended (RCA) sockets. Digital inputs are based on the optional Digital Streaming Module (DSM) and include S/PDIF (coaxial and optical) USB-B, RJ45 and Ethernet.
Its front panel also hosts a discreet door concealing a headphone jack with independent amplifier circuitry.
Priced at a cool £59,998 with the optional digital streaming module adding £11,398, visit dandagostino.com and Absolute Sounds in the UK to find out more.
