Arcam A25+

Arcam goes up a gear

Originally launched back in 2023, Arcam is taking its Radia amp series to the next level with its new A5+, A15+ and A25+ models

Laced with the same DNA as the outgoing A5, A15 and A25 amps, the Radia+ variants boast upgraded circuitry, refined components and more intelligent power management. Each amp incorporates Arcam’s latest Bluetooth 5.4 platform, featuring Snapdragon Sound (AptX Lossless) for bit-perfect CD-quality streaming, LE Audio, and Auracast, which allows one-to-many wireless playback without the need for pairing.

Both the A15+ and A25+ also include HDMI eARC, while the Class G-powered A25+ gains a precision-cut glass front panel that sharpens and brightens the display to match its ST25 partnering streaming. Added to this is a new transformer featuring a dedicated winding for the digital and DAC circuitry, double linear regulation in the analogue power supplies, and further power and mains filtering, making it the most substantially updated of the new trio.

The transformer upgrades in both the A15+ and A25+ further reduce unwanted current within the chassis; meanwhile, the A5+ benefits from component refinements that claim to cut PCB interference and lower power supply impedance. The A25+ design also incorporates an ESS9018 DAC that’s dedicated to its S/PDIF inputs.

The A5+ costs £749 and sports 50W of Class AB power per stereo channel and both digital and analogue inputs (including a moving-magnet phono stage for the latter).

The A15+ comes in at £1,199 RRP with 80W of Class AB amplification, HDMI eARC for seamless TV integration, and all the wireless upgrades of the A5+.

The flagship A25+ costs £1,699 with 100W of Class G power on offer per side, plus an additional DAC for S/PDIF inputs, a USB-C input, HDMI eARC and an OLED display behind a glass panel.
