Wharfedale has updated its long-standing Diamond speaker line-up with a refreshed batch of models.
Titled the Diamond 12i Series, the new eight strong range have kept their prices the same as the outoging models, meaning all are priced well under a grand, including the 12.0i standmount at £199 a pair, 12.1i standmount at £249 a pair, 12.3i floorstanders at £499 a pair and the bigger 12.4i floorstanding speakers at £699 a pair.
The remaining two models are comprised of the 12.C home cinema centre speaker at £229 and the 12 3D home cinema ‘effects speakers’ at £349 a pair.
Their tech includes 25mm soft dome tweeters alongside bass and midrange drivers sporting diaphragms made from ‘Klarity’, a composite of polypropylene and mica. The latter exhaust through an all-new bass-reflex port, with its design aided by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) plus anechoic and in-room measurements, to assess airflow and pressure in its structure.
