Pocket audio specialist iFi has announced what it says is a world first for home audio with its new Phantom all-in-one DAC, network streamer and headphone amplifier.
Boasting studio-grade DSD2048 conversion with 768kHz PCM/DSD512 and full support for Qobuz Connect, Tidal & Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2, the new model builds on the brand’s Pro iDSD DAC with a rebuilt ultra-resolution streaming engine, quad Burr-Brown DAC architecture and discreet Class A amplification (delivering up to 7,477mW peak output).
Added to this is real-time user-switchable solid-state, tube and Tube+ output stages to offers three distinct sonic playback flavours in one device.
Also on the Phatom’s spec sheet are studio inspired tools including K2HD Technology, XBass Pro and XSpace Pro.
