Legendary hifi brand QUAD has announced its first new speaker range for seven years.
The Revela range includes the Revela 1 standmount and Revela 2 floorstander models.
A two way design measuring 395x246x386mm (HxWxD), the Revela 1 standmount features a 27x60mm QUAD True Ribbon high-frequency driver alongside a 165mm mid/bass.
The latter is crafted from a new material named ‘Reveal’, which is uniquely formed from wood pulp and artificial fibres for added damping and strength, while also leading to a more natural, transparent and detailed sound, which is further reinforced via a rear firing port.
The three-way Revela 2 floostander gets the same ribbon tweeter and ups the ante with twin 165mm drivers for bass duties, plus a 150mm driver for the midrange frequencies and twin rear firing ports. Measuring the same width and depth as the Revela 1 model (minus plinth), it stands at 965mm high.
Both models are available in lacquered black or walnut finishes. The Revela 1 cost £1,799 per pair or £2,499 with dedicated stands (the latter cost £799 per pair if purchased separately). The Revela 2 costs £3,499 per pair.
Stay tuned for more QUAD news as a new range of audio electronics is set to follow the new Revela speakers later this year.
