AE sub

Shake the room

Acoustic Energy has announced a new active subwoofer, sensibly titled the AE Sub.

Designed to complement the brand’s 100 and 300 Series loudspeakers, the AE Sub boasts a 250W (RMS) amplifier mated to a 12″, long-excursion, doped and stiffened pulp-fibre driver – allowing it to reach down to an earth-shaking 26Hz at -6dB.

The AE Sub offers stereo line-level inputs plus LFE input, and high-level speaker inputs. An adjustable low pass filter (40-120Hz), phase control (0-180°), and volume control allow for system and room integration, while an auto on/off feature detects an incoming signal and powers up the unit automatically.

Priced at £699 and available in matte black or white finishes, the AE Sub looks great value.
