ATC SCM20ASL

Small and mighty

ATC is launching what it says is its most compact active speaker in the company’s line-up.

Based on the 50th anniversary ‘Limited Edition’ design, the new SCM20ASL is a two-way model housed in a 20L sealed cabinet fitted with ATC’s proprietary 150mm (6”) ‘Super Linear’ mid/bass driver and a 25mm (1”) ‘S-Spec’ dual-suspension tweeter.

Added to this are internal Class AB MOSFET power amplifiers, capable of delivering 200W and 50W of continuous power to the bass and HF drivers respectively.

Other features include a large 75mm voice coil and short-coil (long-gap) motor assembly for the bass driver, sporting ATC’s proprietary ‘SL’ motor tech.

While for the tweeter, its soft-dome boasts dual-suspension and a very high energy 2.1 tesla motor.

Crossovers are active, analogue 2nd order Linkwitz-Riley operating at line-level for maximum efficiency, while an all-pass filter is included to optimise the phase response through the crossover region.
