Stairway to portable heaven

Bowers & Wilkins has announced a higher-performance version of its renowned wireless loudspeaker with the new Zeppelin Pro Edition.

Building on the iconic shape of the existing Zeppelin, updates include new finishes with ‘Solar Gold’ and ‘Space Grey’ on offer, together with a revised downlight that boasts a user-selectable choice of over 15 separate colours, each with brightness adjustment options.

Inside titanium dome tweeters, as found in the latest generation of the brand’s 600 Series loudspeakers, are at work, mounted at the far edges of the enclosure and isolated from vibrations running through its cabinet.

On midrange duties 90mm drivers with improved damping and revised DSP tuning are the order of the day, using using Bowers & Wilkins’ proprietary Fixed Suspension Transducer (FST) tech, as also found in all the company’s premium floor-standing speakers.

And for bass a 150mm subwoofer is on hand, mounted centrally at the heart of the Zeppelin Pro Edition’s structure.

Sporting multiroom functionality built in, the Zeppelin Pro can be used with other new Zeppelins or in a multiroom system based on Bowers & Wilkins’ Formation range, with streaming on offer via AirPlay2, Bluetooth aptX Adaptive and Spotify Connect, plus access to Deezer, Last.fm, Qobuz, TIDAL, TuneIn and many more via Bowers & Wilkins’ Music app.

Priced at £699, find out more at bowerswilkins.com.
