FiiO has launched what it says is its next-generation portable CD player.
The DM15 R2R combines CD playback, high-fidelity R2R digital-to-analog conversion, high-res Bluetooth and can also act as a DAC and headphone amp.
Inside its amplification has been enhanced over its DM13 predecessor meaning its single-ended outputs now deliver 310mW per side, while its balanced outputs rise to 1150mW per channel, providing enhanced headroom for demanding headphones.

On the digital conversion side, its DAC supports PCM up to 384kHz (32-bit) and native DSD256 with track ripping functionality built in. Its Qualcomm QCC3095 Bluetooth chip handles aptX, aptX Adaptive and aptX HD alongside SBC and the DM15 R2R can also send audio over Bluetooth from both CD and USB inputs
Then there’s onboard sound customisation with a trio of bass modes and eight built-in EQ presets for up to 24 dynamic sound profiles (including a specially tuned ‘retro’ preset for a rich, classic analog flavour.

The casework looks considered too, housed in lightweight enclosure with tempered-glass lid and available in silver, red, black and white finishes, all for just £249.99
