Michell Apollo from above

The Apollo program

Michell Audio – a name which needs no introduction in vinyl circles – has launched an all new phono stage, distributed as part of its recently announced partnership with PMC Distribution UK.

Manufactured in the UK and designed from the ground up by the Michell Audio team, the two-box package includes the matching Muse power supply.

With their focus being on eradicating unwanted noise by keeping the PSU and amp separate in dedicated enclosures machined from solid aluminium, these are then linked via a dedicated cable made from silver-plated OFC copper conductors, FEP insulation and AL-foil Mylar separators.

Michell Apollo and Muse

The Apollo’s Class A preamplifiers use tech borrowed from professional microphone amps, which require extremely clean amplification for handling very low signal levels. Other features include a finely tuned passive RIAA circuit, regulation and feedback circuits, plus an additional power supply circuit to further refines and regulate the incoming DC, to ensure its amplification stages receive extremely clean and stable power.

Compatible with both moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges, the Apollo features user customisable load and gain settings, selected via a bank of DIP switches on its underside.

The Muse PSU is built around a high-quality low noise toroidal transformer, advanced capacitance multiplier technology and what Michell says are very high-quality voltage regulators, to reduce ripple and noise, delivering two highly filtered and regulated DC outputs.

Priced at £3,500 for Apollo, Muse and their connecting cable, visit michellaudio.com to find out more.
