NODEs

Three for streaming

Bluesound has introduced a new trio of NODE wireless hi-res music streamers, comprised of the NODE NANO, NODE, and NODE ICON models, in ascending order.

Costing just £299, the compact NODE NANO sports an ESS SABRE DAC offering Hyperstream IV technology to deliver music up to 24-bit/192kHz with analogue and digital outputs spread over RCA, Coaxial, Optical and USB connections.

NODE NANO

Powered by BluOS it boasts native support for streaming services including Amazon Music, Apple AirPlay 2, Pandora, Qobuz, SiriusXM, Spotify Connect, Tidal and Tidal Connect, with aptX Adaptive Bluetooth also included.

Next up is the updated £499 standard NODE model built around an ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC with built-in THX AAA headphone amplifier offering aptX Adaptive Bluetooth, and DSD support. Usability features include HDMI eARC connections for TVs and consoles plus built-in IR learning for universal control and a proximity-sensing touch panel, with up to five programmable source presets.

NODE

Finally the NODE ICON at £899 claims to be Bluesound’s best ever streamer with Dual-Mono ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DACs married to a a low-noise power supply. The DACs are further enhanced by MQA Labs’ QRONO d2a tech, which corrects timing errors in the digital-to-analogue conversion process, realigning the timing response to the original recording.

NODE ICON

Housed in an aluminium chassis with 5” full-colour HD display, it offers balanced (XLR) outputs directly connected to the Dual-Mono DACs and supports DSD playback for studio-quality recordings.
