Back to basics

Analogue overlord Pro-Ject has announced its new wallet friendly E1.2 fully manual turntable, with a price tag of just £249.

Taking its design cues from the brand’s very first product, the Pro-Ject 1 launched back in 1991, the E1.2 continues the same approach of a simple, well-made and no frills turntable that offers great value for money.

To do so the E1.2 strips away non-essentials including Bluetooth, USB, built-in phono stages and automatic cut-off to focus on the basics of a solid plinth, precision tonearm, and premium platter.

Handmade in Europe the E1.2 does get a 730g aluminium die-cast platter with a built-in TPE damping ring, glass-fibre-reinforced ABS sub-platter, heavy-mass gimbal bearing tonearm with a carbon-reinforced headshell, and a Pick it MM E moving-magnet cartridge.
