Off to Uni

Pro-Ject Audio Systems has launched the Uni Box S3, an integrated amplifier with streaming technology powered by WiiM OS.

And while many streaming amplifiers convert all signals to digital, the Uni Box S3 keeps analogue sources analogue. Built around the same dual-mono architecture as the company’s MaiA S3, the Uni Box S3 delivers 40W per channel (into 4 ohms) with streaming support for Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, TuneIn, and more thanks to a Cirrus Logic DAC handling data up to 24-bit/192kHz.

Alongside its front panel, control also comes via Pro-Ject’s Home app, which supports multi-room playback with other future Pro-Ject devices, and also lets you stream connected analogue sources – like a turntable – to compatible devices elsewhere in your home.

Other features include an in-built moving magnet phono stage, analogue volume control and dedicated headphone amp via a6.3mm output.

Inputs cover three analogue (including phono), three digital (optical and coaxial), HDMI eARC for TV audio, and wireless via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1. Outputs are spread across gold-plated speaker terminals and a variable RCA for subwoofers or second zones.

Priced at £699 in black or silver, visit Pro-Ject Audio and Henley Audio in the UK to find out more.
