Legendary audio brand QUAD has announced its new 3CDT as a dedicated CD transport that’s designed to partner the recently released QUAD 3 integrated amp.
Sharing the same 30cm wide chassis design, backlit LCD display and signature styling of its 3 series partner 3CDT can be connected directly its partnering amp’s onboard DAC (or any DAC for that matter) via its coaxial and optical outputs.
Features include a shielded transport mechanism, custom-designed CD servo control, dual-core 32-bit processing framework, ultra-low-noise toroidal transformer and an ultra-low-noise linear regulator.
Decoding support includes for standard ‘Red Book’ 16-bit/44.1kHz CDs plus CD-R, CD-RW and data CDs, alongside discs containing FLAC, WAV, WMA, MP3 and APE encoded files.
