Cambridge Audio has unveiled its new L/R Series of active loudspeakers with a trio of models.
Comprised of the L/R X, L/R M and L/R S, each is available in a choice of six funky finishes (blue, green, orange, black, white, and a real walnut veneer. Their looks and performance are also enhanced thanks to Cambridge Audio’s ‘floating’ base tech, while the L/R X and L/R M both feature subtle white underlighting with adjustable warmth and brightness.
The flagship mid-sized L/R X costs £1,799 and boasts a 2×5″ dual-woofer system with dual 2×6” force-cancelling passive radiators and a 28mm variant of the brand’s Torus tweeter.
Inside are twin 400W Class D amps (800W total) amps with access to the brand’s well established StreamMagic wifi streaming. Connections include HDMI eARC and there’s a handy moving-magnet phono stage built in too.
Next up at £1,199 is the mid L/R M model which hosts 4″ dual woofers and 4.75″ passive radiators, driven by 2x150W internal amps.
And bringing up the rear is the compact L/R S at £399, offering Bluetooth aptX HD connectivity, a 21mm tweeter and 3″ long-throw woofer, each powered by 50W internal amps (100W in total) with an optional title stand.
