Introduced back in 1982, Audiolab’s 8000A amplifier set the blueprint for a style of powerful mid-priced integrated amplifiers that came to dominate for decades, which bred the brand’s ranges that followed.
For 2023 Audiolab has upped its ante with the introduction of its new 9000 Series.
9000A amplifier
The 9000A amplifier is a Class AB design with 100W on offer per channel into 8 ohms, and with a range of traditional inputs as you’d expect from Audiolab, including for moving magnet equipped turntables alongside line level and balanced connections.
On the digital side, there’s provision for optical, coaxial and USB inouts feeding an internal ES9038PRO Sabre DAC that can handle files up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and 512DSD, with MQA decoding and aptX HD Bluetooth streaming included too.
9000CDT Transport
Designed to keep the amp company, the 9000CDT is a matching CD transport boasting a master clock that’s controlled by a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator, to minimise jitter from its coaxial and optical outputs.
With matching 4.3in displays and rotary dials, the new models look like a perfect pairing, with a forthcoming 9000N network audio streamer completing the line up.
