Japanese cartridges, styli, and vinyl accessories maker JICO has announced its first moving-magnet (MM) cartridge. Named the Clipper and available in the UK through Whole Note Distribution, it claims to be the world’s first dual fitting model cartridge.
Designed for seamless compatibility with both JICO’s CRCP/MK1 stylus and Shure’s 44-series replacement styli, the Clipper also sports a tapered aluminium S-Cantilever and 0.12mm, conical diamond stylus tip for a 20Hz–20kHz frequency response.
Clipper is fitted as standard on the limited-edition KORG handytraxx tube J portable record player and costs £399.95 complete or £109.95 as a CRCP/MK1 stylus replacement.
