When it comes smartphones, sound quality has never been their strong point, which is why companies like Southport’s iFi Audio and their mini add-ons play such a vital role, upping the audio quality when you’re on the move.
GO blu is iFi’s latest and most diminutive DAC/amp yet, measuring 55 x 34 x 13mm and weighing just 26g (that’s less than an AA battery) while packing separate Bluetooth, DAC and amp stages into its matchbox sized case.

Both 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone sockets are on offer, with the latter supporting balanced connections
Connections aplenty
Connectivity wise the Go blue ticks most boxes, boasting Bluetooth via a range of codecs including SBC and aptX HD (processed via a Qualcomm four-core QCC510 chip), negating the need for connecting cables. And if you want to go down the hard-wired route, its USB-C charging port doubles as an audio input for files up to 24-bit/96kHz.
Priced at £199 and with eight hours battery life, this looks great value. Find out more on iFi audio’s website.
