Flight of the Concordes

Ortofon is blurring the boundaries of DJ and hifi audio with the release of its Corcorde Music moving-magnet cartridge range in Red, Blue, Bronze and Black variants, mirroring models in its popular 2M series..

All sporting the same ‘Concorde’ shaped body, with different stylus systems (denoted by their coloured coded insignia), each model offers a step up the cartridge ladder.

Concorde Bronze

Features across the range include:

  • Diamond styli, ranging from a bonded elliptical diamond (Concorde Red), to a nude elliptical (Blue), nude fine line (Bronze) and nude Shibata (Black and Black LVB 250)
  • Premium or high-end cantilevers in aluminium (Rec/Blue/Bronze/Black) or boron (Black LVB 250)
  • Ortofon in-house rubber compounds in their stylus suspensions
  • Silver-plated oxygen free copper quad-coils with four Ortofon split pole pins delivering a 6mV output
  • Compatible styli across the range, allowing for easy upgrades
  • Tool-free installation thanks to an SME-style headshell mounting,

Prices for Concorde Music cartridges start at £65 for the Red, £139 (Blue), £269 (Bronze), £435 (Black) and £699 (Black LVB 250).
