Philips Audio has announced a raft of new products, spanning retro, affordable and just outright cool.
First up is the new Moving Sound range, that’s as nostalgic as fingerless gloves and luminous legwarmers on a roller skater. Described as a modern interpretation of the brand’s classic 1980’s gear, the range includes two portable speakers titled The Tube and The Roller (pictured), and two headphone models – the lightweight head band MS1 and the MS5 buds, all offered in unmissable retro yellow or a more discreet black finish.

Despite the vintage vibe, the spec sheet looks thoroughly modern with Bluetooth 5.5 connectivity or music via USB audio playback with Auracast for the portable speakers, and with an IP67 rating for when your caught in a shower. At 51cm wide, the Roller is the bigger of the two, with 140RMS of power into two 5” woofers (with side firing ports) and two 1.5” tweeters.
For the cans, the MS5 is a bud design boasting Spatial Audio plus hybrid noise cancellation, with six mics to block out distractions and make crystal clear calls. The on-ear MS1 boast 40mm drivers and wireless connection and a built-in AI mic for clear calls with reduced background noise. They can also be controlled with Philips’ Headphone App.

Next up is the Fidelio FT1 turntable and FA3 active wireless speakers, with the former being a two speed, belt-driven turntable that also hosts a front mounted tray loading CD Player. Other features include an aluminium diecast platter, aluminium straight tonearm, inbuilt phono stage and a replaceable Audio Technica moving-magnet cartridge. Outputs are offered over Bluetooth 5.4 alongside traditional RCAs and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The compact FA3 speakers each feature bi-amplification and an active crossover for precise delivery of their 2 x 50W RMS power into a 5” glass fibre bass/mid driver and a 1” titanium tweeter, making them ideal sonic partners for the FT1.

Prices have also been revealed for the brand’s retro range, announced back in January, with the The Tina (turner) all-in-one integrated turntable, streamer and tuner at £399.99; the The Stevie entry level integrated turntable system at £129.99; The Janet classic styled portable radio at £69.99; The Freddie open backed, over-ear wired headphone at £99.99, and the The Ringo on-ear headphone at £29.99.

And last but by no means least is the H8000E midrange over-ear headphone. Packing bespoke 40mm ceramic coated drivers and woven silk suspension, they also offer Active Noise Cancelling (including via three AI mics for noise free calling even in noisy environments), Spatial Audio, Multipoint Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity and Auracast hi-res performance via Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair connectivity.
