Sound Design Distribution has announced it is bringing Lumin music’s P1 player to UK shores. The P1 preamp/streamer boasts dual-mono operation from input to output, using dual Femto re-clocking oscillators and dual ES9028PRO SABRE DACs with a 32-bit precision volume control and LEEDH processing.

Its analogue output stage is lifted from the Lumin’s flagship X1 player and comes fully-balanced, fed by a dual-toroidal linear power supply.

Lumin’s P1 boasts a suite of digital and analogue connections, including balanced

Festooned with nine inputs shared over digital and analogue, the P1 is not short of connectivity. The XMOS USB input supports native DSD up to 512 and PCM up to 384kHz, while S/PDIF (coaxial and TOSLINK) and AES inputs support data up to 24-bit/192kHz.

Three HDMI 2.0 inputs support 2.0 PCM audio decoding and there’s also a passthrough for HDR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and DTS via an ARC compatible HDMI output.

The quality considerations also carry over to the dedicated Lumin app and Roon-ready remote that’s precision-made from acrylic and zinc.

The Lumin P1 costs £8,495 and is available now in natural silver or black anodised aluminium. Find out more on Lumin’s website and Sound Design Distribution in the UK.
