Bowers & Wilkins will have its hi-end fans salivating at the sight and sounds of its new 800 Series Signature, described as the ultimate versions of its acclaimed 800 Series Diamond loudspeaker range.
Starting with the new 801 D4 Signature which ups the ante of its already reference-standard 801 D4 adding powerful twin 250mm (10”) Aerofoil Cone bass drivers with upgraded and improved magnets to their motor systems.
It also gets an enhanced aluminium top plate beneath its Turbine Head midrange enclosure using an optimised skeletal structure and carefully placed damping material to reduce unwanted resonance from the top of the enclosure.
Elsewhere its tweeter sports a new FEA-optimised grille mesh to allow more energy from the Diamond Dome tweeter into the room, while protecting the diaphragm.
And that’s not all, as the 801 D4 Signature’s port output is now cast from aluminium for a stiffer and quieter structure ,alongside upgraded bypass capacitors in its crossover.
The 805 D4 also gets an all-new tweeter grille mesh plus an upgraded crossover with new bypass capacitors. Added to this, an all-new mid/bass motor system means even more performance from its 165mm (6.5”) drive unit.
To underline their signature status Bowers & Wilkins has specified two exclusive new finishes with midnight blue metallic that’s carried over from the iconic Nautilus loudspeaker, featuring eleven coats of paint and lacquer with a bespoke blue Connolly leather trim on the top plate.
While sustainably sourced California burl gloss wood veneer is also on offer, finished in black Leather Connolly trim.
The 801 D4 Signature costs £45,000 while the 805 D4 Signature costs £10,000. Feast your eyes at Bowers & Wilkins.
