Topflight turntable specialist Vertere delighted visitors to its Munich space this weekend with the launch of its lates hi-end phono stage.
Named Calon, it’s the first model from the brand featuring dual mono internals for its moving-magnet and moving-coil internals, making it an ideal partner for the brand’s equally refined turntables and accessories (including its XtraX cartridge and new SG-II PTA HB precision tonearm).
With a case machined from non-magnetic (Austenitic) stainless steel, and sporting super-polished stainless steel knobs, inside its audio circuits and their respective power supplies are cited on two identical four-layer gold-plated circuit boards.
Other standout features include initial +10dB and +20dB gain settings, with passive high-frequency and active low-frequency RIAA filtering, followed by further gain options of 0dB, +2dB, +4dB, +6dB and +8db, feeding RCAs and balanced XLR outputs.
A switchable subsonic filter is also part of the package, alongside 180° phase inversion for LPs recorded with incorrect absolute phasing, while nine input impedances and nine capacitance options ensure all cartridges are catered for.
Priced at £15,500 and available in either silver or black, find out more at vertereacoustics.com.
