Kerr Acoustic’s long-awaited K400 loudspeaker has been formally released.
Billed as offering a ‘compromise-free performance in a truly compact design, ideal for space-restricted or professional users’ it comes sporting all the Kerr hallmarks we’ve come to expect.
As the brand’s most compact speaker, the K400 is two-way design that’s destined for for standmount use, or (for the first time in a Kerr loudspeaker), wall/ceiling mounting, drawing heavily on its K300 brethren.

This translates to a 24mm ‘Baltic’ birch plywood (BBP) baffle, 18mm BBP sides, top and bottom, and 12mm internal bracing.
On music generating duties is a 150mm Scanspeak mid/bass unit, paired with a 45mm ribbon tweeter.
“We’ve been using Scanspeak’s 180mm Revelator driver in our K300 and K320 for some time. Incorporating the smaller version into the K400 was a natural step.”
Jes Kerr
And Like all Kerr Acoustic loudspeakers, the K400 employs the company’s proprietary transmission line loading.
