iFi Audio has lifted the lid on its latest pocket sized headphone amp the hip-dac 3.
Featuring two USB-C ports dedicated to audio and charging alongside a 3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced headphone output sockets (the latter providing a balanced connection), it also packs an upgraded DAC with the latest version of iFi’s Global Master Timing (GMT) circuitry and new crystal oscillator.
With an iFi OV op-amp and precision low-noise power supply IC from Texas Instuments, the hip-dac 3 can deliver 400mW into a 32-ohm headphone load with a PowerMatch circuit for headphones requiring a higher level of drive, alongside an XBass low frequency boost feature.
