Pro-Ject Audio Systems has added not one, but two new compact amps to its burgeoning mini separates series.
Priced at £359, the Stereo Box S3 BT packs 40W per channel (into 4 ohms) with two sets of analogue inputs plus aptX Bluetooth up to 24-bit/48kHz, complete with remote control.
The MaiA DS3 at £1,049 ups the ante by some margin with 140W per channel (into 4 ohms). A dual mono design with a Delta-Sigma DAC capable of 32-bit/192kHz PCM and DSD256 plus support for aptX HD Bluetooth, it offers nine inputs including S/PDIF and USB. There’s also a headphone socket and phono input for moving-magnet and moving-coil pick-ups.
