Hi-end audio expert dCS is expanding its cutting edge Varèse Music System with a matching CD/SACD transport.
Conceived by dCS as a complete re-examination of the company’s world-leading audio technologies, the Varèse Music System’s aim it to break new ground in digital sound. The addition of the Varèse Transport enables its fortunate owners to enjoy what it brings to CDs and SACDs, alongside other forms of digital audio storage and conveyance, says dCS.
Price at £35,000, the Varèse Transport joins the five-strong Varèse line-up which also consists of the Core streaming and processing unit, a pair of Mono DACs, an optional Master Clock and a separate user interface unit.
Their groundbreaking in-house tech includes the Differential Ring DAC (the biggest upgrade to dCS’s Ring DAC architecture for a decade), dCS Tomix – a patented new clocking technology, ACTUS – a bespoke interface that carries audio, control and timing signals, numerous circuit design and power supply innovations all aligned to dCS’s new Mosaic ACTUS music management and control app.
When the Transport is partnered with a full-stack Varèse music system as above, the combined cost is a cool £252,500 for the bundle.
