Tivoli audio is adding more than a dash of style to portable audio, with the release of three new models.
The Model 2 Digital (£399) is WiFi and Bluetooth speaker offering streaming via Google Chromecast built-in and AirPlay 2, plus support for Spotify Connect, Q Play, Apple Music, Google Play, Tidal Connect, Deezer, Pandora, and TuneIn. Alongside this, users can also connect the Model 2 Digital with other supported speakers using Google Home or Apple Home to listen to music in multiple rooms, or play peer-to-peer through Bluetooth 5.2. There’s also a 3.5mm Aux input for more traditional connectivity
Sporting an aluminium grille and rear-ported real wood cabinet in three colour ways (white/silver, black/black and walnut/gold), inside beats a 20 watt amplifier driving a full-range speaker and a single tweeter.
Portable to the max
At £599, the substantial SongBook MAX is the mostly costly of the three and offers the latest Bluetooth 5.3 tech plus FM and DAB+ radio. With a distinctly analogue user experience, complete with toggle switches, EQ sliders, tuning dials and retro carry handle it combines modern internals with retro features for practical day to day use, in and out of the house.
Its 50W amp drives a 4″ subwoofer, 4″ midrange driver and 0.75″ tweeter, while its built-in lithium ion battery offers up to 10 hours use. Add to this a 6.35mm analogue input and hooking up a turntable, keyboard or even a guitar makes the MAX a viable mini-allrounder.
Available in grille/cabinet options of high-gloss green or cream/brown, it looks the part too.
Completing the line-up is the standard SongBook at £449, which is a more compact Bluetooth-only portable sound system with the classic styling of the MAX and a 3.5″ full-range driver plus 3.5” woofer, driven by a 40W amplifier. You also get the same finishes of the MAX and a 6.35mm auxiliary input.
