Ohio based SVS is introducing the 5000 R|Evolution Series of subwoofers, which claim to combine the first-ever 15-inch driver and dual monoblock amplifier with the most powerful DSP ever at 295MHz (from Analog Devices).
The range features two models with the SB-5000 R|Evolution being a sealed cabinet design and the PB-5000 R|Evolution a ported model.
Each models’ massive drive unit sports a dual, flat, edge-wound three-inch copper-clad aluminium voice coil, to ensure stable transfer of electromagnetic current from the dual-mono amp to its hefty 21kg toroidal ferrite magnet motor.
Controlling a driver of these proportions takes equally capable amplification, step forward a 2,000W RMS (5,000+ watts peak) dual mono-block STA-2000D Class-D amp, with each powering one of the dual voice coils via eight 60A/200V MOSFETs.
With SVS app control, black ash or gloss finishes and price tags of £2,500/£2,600 for the SB5000 in ash/gloss finishes and £3,150/£3,250 for the PB5000 in ash/gloss finishes, visit SVS or Karma-AV in the UK for more details.
