After the recent releases of its large vintage inspired Dovedale and Windsor models, Wharfedale is demonstrating it’s just as wedded to modern compact audio with the launch of its new DX-3 HCP (home cinema package).
Measuring just 19x12x12.2cm (HxWxD) per speaker, the DX-3, is a closed-box design making it ideal to wall or shelf mount. The range also includes the equally compact DX-3 Centre and DX-3 Subwoofer.
With fixed grilles and driver hardware inspired by its Diamond range, the DX-3’s 75mm mid/bass driver is fashioned from a woven polypropylene matrix, working alongside a 19mm silk dome tweeter.
Their cabinets have also been upgraded over the outgoing DX-2 range, with enhanced resonance control and an additional bracing panel fixed to the cabinet enclosure, to strengthen the front baffle.
The DX-3 Stereo costs just £149 for a stereo pair, while the 5.1 the DX-3 HCP combines two pairs of DX-3 speakers with the DX-3 Centre and DX-3 Subwoofer at just £499.
