Classic British loudspeaker brand Castle is bringing its manufacturing expertise back to the UK, with the launch of its new Windsor Earl and Windsor Duke loudspeakers.
These classically styled models in either real walnut or mahogany veneers reflect the company’s 50 years history, and are the first new models the brand has announced in over a decade.
Both standmount speakers, the Windsor Earl and Windsor Duke make up the Windsor Series with the former model being the smaller offering at 43x24x26cm (HWD), with the Windsor Duke sized at 47x28x31cm.
Their design stems from the experienced hands of world renowned speaker guru Karl-Heinz Fink and his Fink Audio team who are also famed for Castle’s sister brand Wharfedale’s designs.
Like Castles of old, every part of the two Windsor models has been developed and manufactured in-house, from their drive units to their cabinets and crossovers network. They’re also made in the UK.
Both feature 28mm microfibre domes with the Windsor Earl sporting a 165mm woven polypropylene cone, while the Windsor Duke gets a 200mm variant for extra oomph.
The Castle Windsor Earl costs £3,850 with the Windsor Duke priced at £4,500 per pair, with dedicated stands adding £400 and £500 to their respective price tags.
