Cambridge based dCS has announced cutting edge updates to its Bartók upsampling network DAC.

Originally launched back in 2018, the latest Bartók now incorporates the brand’s proprietary Ring DAC APEX technology that was first added to its Vivaldi and Rossini ranges.

A combination of hardware and software updates, APEX is part of dCS’s approach to iterative improvements that benefit new and existing owners alike, by further reducing noise and distortion while and increasing linearity.

The new dCS Bartók APEX edition costs £19,000 in standard guise, or £21,500 with integrated headphone amp. Existing Bartók owners also have the option of upgrading to APEX spec for £7,500 per unit, arranged via Absolute Sounds in the UK.
