System Audio Silverback 1 feature

Silver lining

System Audio is taking its award-winning WiSA connected kit to more listeners that demand big sounds from small systems, thanks to its new Silverback 1 system launched at the UK Hi-Fi Show Live.

Featuring the Silverback 1 active speaker, which can be wall or bookshelf mounted, this comes sporting a specially designed 5.5″ woofer and waveguided 1″ soft dome tweeter, driven by twin 80W amplifiers.

System Audio Silverback 1

Each speaker measures just 31 x 32.5 x 13.5cm and comes offered in white or black satin cabinets.

With wireless audio on tap up to 24-bit/192kHz, the Silverback 1 can work with any WiSA-enabled device (including those from Primare, as we tested last year) and is designed to partner with System Audio’s Stereo Hub (4.1 x 17 x 10cm) which is Roon Ready and compatible with Google Chromecast, Apple Airplay 2, Bluetooth and Spotify Connect streaming. There’s also USB, S/PDIF (optical and coaxial) and HDMI digital inputs on tap too, alongside a pair of analogue sockets.

Silverback hub and remote

Setup and room correction are via System Audio’s ‘SA Cockpit’ app for both Android and iOS.

Priced at £1,799 per stereo pair of Silverback 1 active loudspeakers and £399 for the Stereo Hub and remote control, find out more at System Audio and Karma-AV in the UK.
